Speakers:

Mr. Richard Vanderpyl

Head of Christian Alliance International School (CAIS), Richard is a passionate educator with extensive experience in the development of quality international education. He has been involved in education for more than 37 years, 34 in New Zealand where he served as principal of Middleton Grange School, and since 2019 as HOS at CAIS. Richard is a trailblazer who loves to explore innovative ideas and create new opportunities. Driven by his faith in Jesus Christ, he desires to help all aspiring young people achieve their God given purpose and use their gifts in service. Richard loves to travel and treasures his international adventures with his wife and children. Cultivating the next generation of leaders and changemakers and teaching them about Christ is his life goal. Richard holds a BCom and MEd Admin (Hons), and has been awarded a Winston Churchill Fellowship.


Ms. Ruby Lam

Ruby has extensive experience working with youth and university students. She is currently the Head of Career Center in the Dean of Students Office at The Hong Kong University of Science and Technology. She runs a 20 people team overseeing graduate recruitment and internship placement for more than 15,000 undergraduate and postgraduate students. She runs the bi-annual in-person job fairs covering 500 companies, virtual career fair for more than 150 companies, graduate employment survey, career consultation operations, and more than 200 career development programs. Prior to joining the education sector, Ruby worked in management positions at Cathay Pacific Airways, the Boeing Company, Capital One and Monitor Deloitte, both in Hong Kong and USA. Ruby holds a MBA and a MSc in Civil Engineering from MIT, a MSc in Engineering-Economic Systems and Operations Research from Stanford University and a BSc in Industrial Engineering from Northwestern University.


Mr. Brad Miller

Brad is the founder, CEO and Chairman of a New Media Startup company called 72 Dragons headquartered in Hong Kong and operating in Hong Kong, Shenzhen, Mumbai, Qatar, London, New York, and Honduras. 72 Dragons focuses on film production, design, written media, digital and physical publication, social media, curation, digital curation, and digital media. 72 Dragons’ clients range from top 40 global companies for its digital media services to individual contributors and small firms across the fields of arts, film, and healthcare. The startup is building out the metaverse for media services. Before working at 72 Dragons, Brad spent 32 years working at JPMorgan, a global investment bank. Brad is a graduate of Calvin University in Economics/Mathematics with a concentration in German literature.

  • What kind of literacies are required of workers for the future? (e.g. cultural and global literacies, creativity, interpersonal and family relationships, faith-values-worldviews, practical intelligence)
