About the Event

In so many spaces, we find gaps across differing cultural values.

Younger generations vs their parents. Demonstrations of social justice vs stability with the status quo. Personal vs corporate cultures.

In Hong Kong, the tension rises between those seeking to emulate the West vs China. How do we press on, when we are being pressed on every side?

Is the convergence of cultures a tug-of-war battle, or can we find opportunities to build a better future together? How can we understand strangers and make room to listen to one another?  Join us for an evening of pondering these important questions as we celebrate the efforts of our students in the Master of Arts in Intercultural Studies program in collaboration with Wheaton College and more.

We are honored to have Dr. Clara Chan, one of our local faculty members who taught in this program, give the celebratory speech: "Intercultural Literacy: A Very Important Competence for Leaders of the Future." Dr. Clara Chan, who was born and raised in Hong Kong, has 30+ years of experience teaching intercultural studies and English language and literature in Hong Kong and mainland China. She holds an Ed.D. from the University of Leicester in the U.K.
