What are the opening hours of the library?

  Monday, Wednesday

  9:00am to 12:15pm, 1:15pm to 7:00pm

* When librarian is not on duty, users can still return and borrow library materials, but no reference desk services will be available.


How do I use Lumina College Library Catalogue?

  • The catalogue is the search tool for finding materials. Please refer to User Guide for further instructions.


What is the meaning of call numbers?

  • Call numbers are numbers given to a record in a library for indicating its shelf location. LC (Library of Congress) Classification is used for Lumina College. The example below means the book is located in the “Communication and Media” section under HD.

How can I borrow library materials?

  • Students and staff can borrow library materials by providing their student or staff IDs.


How do I renew and hold library materials?

  • Please refer to User Guide for further instructions.

  • Once email notifications are issued, the reserved items will be re-shelved after the 10th working day.


How do I pay fines or other fees?

  • Users have to pay cash in EXACT amount.
  • For overseas students, electronic notifications will be sent to them to provide payment instructions.

Is there any photocopying service in the Lumina College?

  • Most library materials are available for lending. Users can only photocopy
  • Reference materials (HKD$1.00/page). No color copying is provided.


Is there any scanning service in the Lumina College?


  • The service is provided for students who are not physically in Hong Kong. They can scan around one-tenth of each book or one article of each journal (HKD$1.00/page). No person is allowed to make more than one copy.
