Lumina Prayer Letter (February 27, 2018)

Greetings in the Chinese New Year season! God has done amazing things among us and we Love to share with you. 


  1. Lumina international conference January 25 to 27th titled: "Christian mind in the emergent world: Academic faith integration in the Asian contexts from a global perspective". Over 40 participants came, 30 presenters of which six were keynotes. It was represented by scholars from four corners of the world. This conference places Lumina College on the map of higher education. The proceedings of this conference will be published by Cambridge Scholarly Publisher. 


  2. Concurrent six community seminars in the areas of: Anxiety and Depression by Grace Koo, Leadership by Karen Longman, Higher Education in the prison by Claudia Beversluis, Work as God's Commission by Albert Erisman, Chinese Ethics and Technopoly by Kai Pak Chan, and Christianity in Pluralistic Society by Kuk-Won Shin. 

  3. Redeeming technology faculty development series, in conjunction with Hong Kong University: Third session by Melba Maggay on Propaganda Technology and Keith Chan on Artificial Intelligence development. Actively participated by 20 participants. 

  4. South East Asian trips to recruit master's students: Vaughan and Wing Tai went to Taiwan (supported by Cosmic Light); the Philippines (supported by ISACC and Grace Koo); Malaysia (supported by Wansee), and Macau (supported by Dr Lam Kin Wing and Pastor Nam). Attended by church leaders, educators, young adults, publishers, and social workers.  

  5. Dr Albert Boerema from Calvin college visited and worked on possible educational master's program. Dr Yunn Kang visited and finalised details on Cairn MBA program. Dr Daniel Kim from The King's University in Canada came with his students in global business entrepreneurship. 

  6. Christian Missionary Alliance Church in Tuen Mun Pastoral team visited the Dragon garden. We served with cultural tour and DVD presentation. 



  1. Master's programs students recruitment. We need 37 master students for the three programs: Wheaton College MA in Intercultural Studies; Asbury University MA in Communication: Digital Storytelling; Cairn University Master of Business Administration.


  2. Master's programs registration with the government education unit. 

  3. Recruitment of staff: librarian, academic faculty, Dragon Garden manager, technical assistant and office assistant. 

  4. Financial need for operation: HK$6,000,000 per year (Hong Kong tax deductible receipt will be issued for the donation more than HK$100)
