The School of Communication Arts at Asbury aims to prepare students to communicate truthfully and effectively in this age of diversity, guided by a deeper understanding of how their faith in Jesus Christ, the Word made flesh, can shape their communication abilities. Course Descriptions

 

Admission Requirements

  1. A US-bachelor-equivalent degree with a minimum cumulative GPA of 2.5

  2. Official transcripts from credit-awarding colleges

  3. TOEFL (iBT: 90) or IELTS (6.5)

 

* While there is no particular requirement on the type of bachelor degree possessed by the applicant, some background or experience in media production is expected.  Intensive workshops, typically offered in summer, will be made available to provide training in relevant skill areas.

 

Award and Duration

  • Award:  Master of Arts from Asbury University

  • Normal duration of study is 2 years, part-time (maximum: 5 years)

 

Assessment

The program consists only of continuous assessments and has no final examination.  Each course uses multiple assignments to assess students’ learning, which may take the form of critiques, analyses, portfolios, projects, essays and production pieces, etc.  A student must pass all courses and obtain a minimum of 3.0 GPA in order to earn the Master’s degree award.

 

 

Tuition Fee

The tuition rate for the M.A. in Communication: Digital Storytelling program for 2018-19 is US$618 per credit hour, and US$18,540 for completing the whole program.  Tuition will be paid in instalments before the start of each semester.  Students will be required to cover the additional cost if any course needs to be reetaken for completing the program.

 

Application Procedure

  1. Submit a Student Information Form for an initial review. 

  2. Be ready to submit a copy of a Hong Kong ldentity Card/passport, as well as originals and copies of transcripts and certificates as part of the review process. Once review is complete, pay a non-refundable application fee of HK$200 to Lumina College Limited.

  3. Receive application instructions from Lumina College to officially apply for entry to the M.A. program via Asbury University's online system. 

  4. Complete the online application procedure by supplying all the required information and documentation by deadline, 1 June 2018. 

 

Payment Methods for Application Fee:

i) Cheque / Bank Draft

Crossed cheque/bank draft should be made payable to "Lumina College Limited".  Post-dated cheque will not be accepted.  Please write the applicant's name, HKID card no. /passport no. and program name on the back of the cheque/bank draft.

Cheques can be submitted in person or by mail to 3/F, Breakthrough Centre, 191 Woosung Street, Jordan, Kowloon, Hong Kong

 

ii) Cash

Cash payment is accepted at the urban campus of Lumina College.

 

iii) Money Deposit/Transfer

Money can be deposited or transferred to the bank account of Lumina College in The Hong Kong and Shanghai Banking Corporation Limited.  The bank account number is (004-)819-773649-838.

The bank pay-in slip should be sent digitally to Lumina College for record purposes.
